Football trips to Scotland are becoming increasingly popular. Of course, Celtic and Rangers, the two top clubs from Glasgow, are at the forefront, but more and more football fans are also enjoying the "smaller teams" of the Scottish Premier League. These primarily include the two clubs from the Scottish capital Edinburgh, Hibernian Edinburgh and Heart of Midlothian.

The Scottish Premier League also has many other traditional clubs, such as Dundee United, who lost in the UEFA Cup final against Gothenburg in 1987, or FC Aberdeen, the European Cup winner from 1983, when they even knocked out the mighty FC Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals.

There are also several football derbies in Scotland. The most famous and notorious Old Firm takes place at least three times a year. Either Celtic against Rangers enjoys home advantage twice at Celtic Park or the Rangers host Celtic twice at Ibrox.

In the Edinburgh Derby, Heart of Midlothian and Hibernian regularly face each other. In Dundee, FC Dundee and Dundee United compete for dominance in the city. Additional regional derbies in Scotland include the Lanarkshire Derby between Hamilton and Motherwell, as well as the Highlands Derby between Ross County and Inverness Caley Thistle.
