One detail sets this page apart from every other in Scottish football: Glasgow Airport is closer to Paisley than it is to Glasgow. Land, and you are minutes away — few top-flight grounds anywhere in Europe are reached faster after arrival.

St Mirren tickets 2026/27: how to get a seat

St Mirren play in the Scottish Premiership, at home in Paisley, roughly ten minutes west of Glasgow by train.

Tell us which home fixture you want and how flexible your dates are. We will check what is possible and come back with a concrete proposal — the ticket alone, or a travel package with a hotel. What cannot be done, we will say just as plainly.

Paisley: the town that named a pattern

In the nineteenth century Paisley was one of the world's great textile towns. Its mills produced a design of curved, teardrop-shaped motifs in such quantity that the pattern took the town's name worldwide — paisley. Plenty of people know the word without ever having connected it to Scotland.

The club is named after Saint Mirin, a sixth-century Irish monk who founded Paisley Abbey. The abbey still stands in the middle of town, is open to visitors, and is the main reason travellers come to Paisley at all — football aside.

Where Alex Ferguson started

Before Alex Ferguson won a European trophy with Aberdeen and then spent more than two decades shaping Manchester United, he managed St Mirren from 1974 to 1978. It was his first job in senior football, and he built a young side here that won promotion.

Anyone tracing that career starts in Paisley and moves on to Aberdeen — the second stop on the same road.

Celtic and Rangers tickets in a small ground

Twice a season the Glasgow clubs come to Paisley, and you see them from a proximity that Glasgow itself makes impossible: St Mirren against Rangers on 7 November 2026 and against Celtic on 23 January 2027. See the Rangers and Celtic pages.

Other home fixtures: Aberdeen on 2 January 2027, Heart of Midlothian on 5 December 2026, Hibernian on 27 February 2027 and Motherwell on 13 February 2027 — see Motherwell FC.

One weekend, three or four grounds

The location makes Paisley the most practical base for a Scottish football trip. The airport is minutes away, Glasgow ten, Motherwell about forty. With the fixture lists aligned you can take in three or four top-flight stadiums in a weekend without a single journey over half an hour.

That is an argument England, Spain and Italy simply cannot make — there the clubs sit further apart than a weekend allows.

Getting there and making an enquiry

Glasgow International takes direct flights from Ireland, Scandinavia, the Benelux countries and Germany. From the terminal to Paisley is a few minutes by bus or taxi; trains from Paisley Gilmour Street reach Glasgow Central in about ten.

Tell us the fixture, your travel window and the number of people. We will tell you what is achievable and put the ticket, the hotel and the travel together — for several matches on the same weekend if you want them.
