More about corporate events

In 2024/25 something happened in Bielefeld that German football had not seen in this form: a third-division club knocked Bundesliga side after Bundesliga side out of the cup and ended up in the DFB-Pokal final. Every one of those ties was played in the same place — at the Alm.

Arminia Bielefeld tickets 2026/27: how to get a seat

Arminia play in the 2. Bundesliga, with sixteen home fixtures at the SchücoArena — a ground everyone in Bielefeld calls die Alm.

Tell us when you can travel and we will look for a home fixture that fits. You will get a concrete proposal back — as a Ticket Combo with something to do locally, or as a travel package with a hotel. If your preferred date cannot be arranged we will say so and suggest another matchday.

Union, Freiburg, Leverkusen — all three at the Alm

The 2024/25 cup run can be told in three evenings. On 30 October 2024 Union Berlin came to Bielefeld and went out. On 3 December 2024 it was SC Freiburg. And on 1 April 2025, in the semi-final, Bayer 04 Leverkusen — champions of Germany the season before — visited the Alm.

A third-tier club won all three, each in front of its own crowd. The run ended in the final in Berlin, but it left a story in Westphalia that will carry for years. Pages for those opponents: 1. FC Union Berlin, SC Freiburg and Bayer Leverkusen.

Why it is called the Alm

The ground opened in 1926, holds 27,332 and sits among houses on Melanchthonstraße — no car parks, no greenfield site, just residential streets running up to the back of the stands.

The glass roof over the west stand was added in the 2008 redevelopment and keeps the sound inside. That is why the Alm sounds bigger than it is — and why the whole country uses the nickname even though a sponsor's name is written above the gate.

The fixtures in highest demand

Two dates stand out. Arminia Bielefeld against Dynamo Dresden on 5 December 2026 brings together two of the loudest ends in German football. And against FC St. Pauli on 4 September 2026 is a Friday-night fixture against a relegated Bundesliga club — the combination that fills up first.

Then the heritage fixtures: 1. FC Kaiserslautern on 12 December 2026, 1. FC Nürnberg on 6 February 2027 and Hertha BSC on 13 March 2027 — see 1. FC Kaiserslautern and 1. FC Nürnberg.

Short journeys for the visitors, and a good crowd as a result: VfL Bochum on 3 March 2027 and VfL Osnabrück on 17 October 2026.

Bielefeld and the Teutoburg Forest

Bielefeld is known in Germany as the city that supposedly does not exist — a 1990s internet joke the city now markets itself. In fact it sits on the edge of the Teutoburg Forest, beneath the thirteenth-century Sparrenburg castle, whose tower gives a view far across Westphalia.

Twenty kilometres away stands the Hermannsdenkmal, one of the largest statues in Europe. For a weekend with some walking in it, the area is better than its reputation suggests.

Getting there and making an enquiry

Bielefeld is on the high-speed line between the Ruhr, Hanover and Berlin — fifty minutes from Dortmund, a little over an hour from Hanover, both with airports serving northern Europe. The Alm is about two kilometres from the main station: a few minutes by light rail, twenty-five on foot.

The Ticket Combo pairs your seat with something local, such as the Sparrenburg. The travel package adds the hotel.

Tell us your travel window and the number of people, and we will find the matchday that fits.
