Coppa Italia tickets: one match, no second chance

Italy's premier cup competition has been played for more than a hundred years and is settled from start to finish in single matches — there are no replays. That keeps the tension high and the calendar tight. Because the heavyweights of Serie A almost always contest the trophy, tickets are in demand throughout.

The road to Rome

The season begins in August with early rounds featuring lower-ranked Serie A teams and ambitious Serie B clubs. The eight best-placed sides from the previous campaign enter at the round of 16 in December and are seeded, which means they play at home. Quarter-finals follow in February and the semi-finals in April. From the quarter-finals onwards, the cup regularly produces the best football of the Italian winter.

The final at the Stadio Olimpico

Since 2008 the final has been held almost exclusively in Rome. The Stadio Olimpico provides the stage for what Italians call the "Notte Magica" — a floodlit match in the Eternal City in May. When Lazio or AS Roma reach the final, it becomes a genuine home game, with the atmosphere to match.

The records

Juventus are the record winners with 15 titles, followed by Inter Milan and AS Roma. Roberto Mancini holds the appearance record with 72 matches, and Alessandro "Il Spillo" Altobelli leads the all-time scoring list with 56 goals.

Two practical points

Dates and kick-off times are confirmed late, as everywhere in Italy — book flights with room to spare. And Italian tickets are personalised and carry the holder's name: we need the details of everyone travelling and will ask for them in good time. Visitors who underestimate this do not get through the turnstile.
