Borussia Dortmund tickets for home games at the Signal Iduna Park

Borussia Dortmund tickets sell out early for both Bundesliga and European fixtures, and the club's own motto — Echte Liebe, real love — explains why. We source tickets through our vetted partner network, as a Ticket Combo or together with a hotel in Dortmund or the wider Ruhr area.

The Yellow Wall: Europe's largest terrace

The Südtribüne of the Signal Iduna Park — a ground most supporters still call the Westfalenstadion — is known everywhere as the Yellow Wall. It holds 25,000 standing supporters, more than any comparable terrace in Europe, and it sings from long before kick-off until well after the final whistle. Standing among 25,000 people who all know every word is a different experience from watching from a seat, and it is why many visitors return instead of treating Dortmund as a one-off.

Why the Wall still stands on European nights

In most grounds capacity drops for Champions League fixtures, because terraces have to be converted into seating. Since 2022 the Yellow Wall may stand in European competition as well, so the Westfalenstadion fills to its full capacity of more than 81,000 in Europe too. If you are choosing between a league game and a European night, that is the detail worth knowing: here you do not trade atmosphere for the bigger occasion.

Ticket Combo or ticket and hotel: what you can book

There are two ways to see a home game. The Ticket Combo pairs your match ticket with a tourist element such as a guided city tour, and books like a ticket, without accommodation — which suits visitors arriving on matchday itself. The ticket and hotel package adds a room in Dortmund or nearby, and in the Ruhr that often works better: the cities sit close together, so a second match over the same weekend is easy to add. Groups from ten travellers are quoted individually, and we seat parties together as standard rather than by luck.

Revierderby and Der Klassiker: the fixtures everyone asks for

Two matches shape every Dortmund season. The Revierderby against Schalke 04 is the Ruhr's own rivalry, passed down through families and worth the trip for the choreography alone. Der Klassiker against Bayern Munich — named after the Spanish Clásico — is the fixture the whole league looks to. Both sell out first and cost the most. A regular Bundesliga Saturday is the cheaper and more available way onto the terraces, and the Wall does not take the day off.

The night the club is still measured against

On 28 May 1997 Dortmund, founded in 1909, won the Champions League for the first time, beating Juventus 3–1 in the final at Munich's Olympiastadion. Lars Ricken scored the decisive goal twenty seconds after coming on, from thirty metres. European nights here have kept that habit: in April 2013 Dortmund scored twice in stoppage time against Málaga to reach the semi-final, then beat Real Madrid 4–1 at home with all four goals from Robert Lewandowski, before losing the all-German final at Wembley.

Getting there from the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Britain and Ireland

Dortmund is one of the easiest German grounds to reach from abroad. Visitors from the Netherlands and Belgium often drive or take the train, because the Ruhr sits close to the Dutch border. From Scandinavia, Britain and Ireland the usual route is a flight to Düsseldorf, roughly an hour from Dortmund by train, with frequent connections from Cologne and Frankfurt as well. On matchday your ticket includes free local public transport to the ground and back; the U-Bahn stops at Stadion and Westfalenhallen.
