Two winners, two traditions

Dortmund won the competition in 1997 and returned to the final in 2013 and 2024. Inter took the title in 2010 as part of a treble and reached the final again in 2023 and 2025. Italian structure against German noise is a fixture that tends to produce something.

The Yellow Wall, and what changes in Europe

The Südtribüne holds close to 25,000 standing supporters in the Bundesliga and is the largest terrace in European football. UEFA requires seats, so for this match the Wall is converted and the capacity drops to around 66,000. It does not get any quieter.

Getting there

The ground lies south of the centre, ten minutes by Stadtbahn from Dortmund Hauptbahnhof. Regional trains reach Dortmund from Essen, Bochum and Düsseldorf in under an hour, and Düsseldorf airport is the usual arrival point for visitors from Scandinavia, the Benelux countries, the UK and Ireland.
