The joy at Crystal Palace was not dampened by the fact that just one day after their big win, the European Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) officially relegated them from the Europa League to the Conference League due to Multi-Club Ownership.

“Football-wise, we deserved to be in the Europa League,” said Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson on BBC Radio 5 Live, “I think even neutral fans would agree. Crystal Palace fans waited 120 years for a title, and now to take away their chance at a Europa League tour is unfair and not good for football – and everyone knows it.”

Unfortunately, this statement did not sway the judges, but what Crystal Palace accomplished in their two Wembley appearances is unforgettable – and definitely makes a football trip to Crystal Palace worthwhile.
