Seville 2022: a European trophy after 42 years

On 18 May 2022 Eintracht won the Europa League at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán in Seville. The final against Rangers finished 1–1 — Rafael Borré equalising in the 69th minute from a Filip Kostić cross — and Frankfurt won the shoot-out 5–4, with goalkeeper Kevin Trapp named man of the match. It was the club's first European trophy in 42 years. Weeks earlier some 30,000 Frankfurt supporters had taken over the Camp Nou and won the quarter-final 3–2.
