Atlético Madrid vs. FC Barcelona 2:4 – Advantage for ,,Barca" in the Title race

After 70 minutes, the Metropolitano was back in action. Another goal, this time by Alexander Sörloth near the penalty spot despite a suspected handball by Rodrigo de Paul, his 11th goal of the season for the Norwegian.

Top scorer Robert Lewandowski couldn’t let that stand. The Pole chased the ball that he let bounce off his chest near the penalty area to score the 2:1 goal, his 22nd goal of the season. 

Players like Sörloth, Lewandowski, and Lamine Yamal are what make La Liga football trips an absolute attraction – as was evident in the final phase of the game, simply fantastic!

The same goes for the 2:2 by Ferran Torres (78’ / “The Torres of the Others”) – a powerful header from five meters after a right-wing cross by Raphinha, Jan Oblak got a touch, but this header was too well-placed. 

And things got even more bitter for Atlético. In the second minute of injury time, “Barca” wonderboy Lamine Yamal fired the ball from 18 meters into the net for the 3:2 lead for the Catalans. With that, the European champion shot FC Barcelona to the top of the table.

Outside the sideline, Barcelona’s German coach Hansi Flick jumped for joy, marking the 7th consecutive La Liga win for his team – because Torres sealed the victory with the 2:4 (90. + 7).
