Bayer 04 Leverkusen vs Olympique Marseille

Bayer Leverkusen tickets for the Europa League tie with Olympique Marseille

Marseille visit the BayArena on Thursday 5 November 2026, bringing one of the most vocal followings in European football to a ground where every seat is close to the pitch.

France's only European Cup winners

Marseille won the European Cup in 1993 and remain the only French club to have done so. At home they fill the Stade Vélodrome with more than 65,000, the Virage Nord and Virage Sud among the loudest ends anywhere. They travel in numbers.

Leverkusen in Europe

Bayer won the UEFA Cup in 1988, reached the Champions League final in 2002 and the Europa League final in 2024 - the season they went through the Bundesliga unbeaten and took the double. The BayArena holds around 30,000, which makes for an unusually tight atmosphere.

Where to stay

Leverkusen sits between Cologne and Düsseldorf, each about twenty minutes away by regional train. You can base yourself in either city and still reach the ground quickly - Düsseldorf and Cologne/Bonn airports both serve Scandinavia, the Benelux countries, the UK and Ireland.
