Twente took the Eredivisie title in 2010, breaking the grip of Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord. They play at De Grolsch Veste in Enschede, right on the German border.

Freiburg have played at the Europa-Park Stadion since 2021, capacity around 34,700. Before that it was the Dreisamstadion, a name plenty of supporters still use. The roof carries one of the largest solar arrays on any stadium - fitting for a city that has called itself a solar capital for decades.

The minster with its Gothic tower, the Bächle water channels running through the old streets, the Schlossberg above the town. Freiburg is Germany's southernmost city and often its warmest. The Europa-Park at Rust, which gives the stadium its name, is 35 kilometres away, and Basel and Alsace are inside an hour.
