Day 5: The Top 8 Seeds Step In

7 April brings the tournament to a new level: the eight highest-ranked seeds received a bye in Round 1 and play their first match of the tournament today.

A Bye for the Top 8

In a 56-player draw, the top eight seeds traditionally receive a bye into Round 2 — meaning their tournament officially begins here.

The First Real Tests

With 17 matches on the schedule, Day 5 offers the first chance to see the tournament favourites go head-to-head with players who already have a match under their belt.
