The Tub

De Kuip translates as the tub, which describes the build: steep tiers wrapped tight around the pitch, no running track, no distance. Opened in 1937 and holding around 47,500, it has been among the loudest grounds in Europe for decades. "Hand in Hand" is sung by the whole stadium before kick-off.

Feyenoord won the European Cup in 1970, before Ajax and before PSV. The UEFA Cup followed in 1974 and again in 2002, when the final was played at this stadium.
