Oasis 2027: the rumour mill is churning — Knebworth, the Etihad, Rome

Twelve nights at the Etihad. Six nights at Knebworth. Two concerts at the Stadio Olimpico. And somewhere in between, the question every forum on the continent has been asking for a year: are they finally coming to us?

The rumour mill around an Oasis tour in 2027 is churning, and it is churning for good reason. Here is what fans are getting excited about — and an honest word on how much of it is actually settled. First things first, so nobody plans around a phantom: nothing has been announced yet. But the signs have not been this dense since the reunion tour ended.

Why everyone is looking at 2027

Because an entire continent went without. The “Live '25” tour was an event — 41 concerts, 14 countries, more than two million people who saw Liam and Noel share a stage again. And then this: not a single date on mainland Europe. No Germany, no Italy, no France, no Spain.

If you did not travel to Cardiff, Manchester, London or Dublin in 2025, you simply did not see this reunion. In 2026 the band did not play at all. The appetite is enormous — and the band knows it.

Manchester: twelve nights at the Etihad

This is the rumour with the longest half-life. Since July one number has been doing the rounds in Manchester: twelve concerts at the Etihad Stadium, several nights back to back — a residency. Some are now talking about as many as twenty dates.

Picture it: Oasis, twelve summer evenings in a row, in their own city. Not a visiting act, an institution.

The honest caveat: the figure comes from a Manchester Evening News report based on anonymous sources, and every follow-up story quotes that one report. Manchester City have confirmed nothing, the stadium nothing, the band nothing. One detail keeps the speculation alive, though — the Parklife festival has moved its 2027 slot from June to July for the first time.

Knebworth: the place where it could all begin again

For Oasis fans Knebworth is not a venue, it is a date. August 1996, two nights, a quarter of a million people on a field in Hertfordshire — the biggest concerts Britain has ever staged. More than two million people applied for tickets at the time.

And now this: promoter SJM Concerts has been granted an open-ended events licence for Knebworth House covering up to 125,000 visitors. That is a matter of public record, which makes it the one hard fact in this entire story.

Who the licence is for is not written on it. SJM promote for plenty of artists. But you can guess what everyone in England thought of first.

Rome: the only place the band themselves have commented on

On the mainland, Rome is the furthest along. Not because of a report, but because Liam Gallagher answered in person: in July he replied to fan questions about Rome twice on X — both times in the affirmative. Italian media report two concerts at the Stadio Olimpico, with the city said to be working to make it happen.

A summer evening at the Olimpico, Monte Mario behind you and an Italian crowd singing every line back — that is the trip a lot of people are currently imagining. It is still not an announcement: these are a musician's replies on social media, with no date attached.

What about the rest of Europe?

Here we have to disappoint you, and we would rather do it before you book a hotel. There is nothing solid on any mainland date. Munich is named as a possible stop in a single report, and even there it is unclear where the information came from.

That half of Europe is searching for it anyway is no accident — after skipping the continent entirely, a 2027 tour without mainland dates would be hard to explain. We would be delighted. But we will only write it down when somebody says it who is in a position to know.

A warning that can save you money

Search for Oasis tickets and tribute acts turn up alongside the real thing. One example we checked: a listing for January 2027 in a Düsseldorf club, from around €34. That is not the band, it is a tribute act in a rock club. Probably a good night out — just not the one you had in mind.

When will the announcement come? A date from the past helps

The reunion was announced on 27 August 2024, and the first show was on 4 July 2025. Around ten months' notice, and the news landed on the last weekend of August.

If 2027 is meant to be an early-summer run, that pattern says the moment is now. Which is exactly why the fanbase is so twitchy — and why it is worth keeping your eyes open over the coming weeks.

And then it all happens very fast. In 2024 the ballot opened three days after the announcement and general sale a day later. If you were not registered, you had no chance. The queues then collapsed, there was a row about dynamic pricing, and more than 50,000 tickets had to be cancelled and resold. It was, to put it mildly, not a relaxing morning.
