More about corporate eventsOfficial tickets and complete football trips with hotel for an Aston Villa home game at Villa Park. We arrange your seat, your hotel in Birmingham and one point of contact from enquiry to return journey.
Aston Villa have played at Villa Park since 1897, which makes it one of the very few grounds in England still at the same address after more than 125 years. The Holte End behind the goal is the heart of it: a single tier holding close to 13,000 supporters, and for many visitors the reason to come here rather than to a newer, tidier stadium. It is loud, it is close to the pitch, and it sounds nothing like a modern bowl.
Most Premier League home games sell out. We can still arrange seats once general sale has closed, and we confirm before you book whether your group will be seated together.
Birmingham is one of the easiest English football cities to reach from abroad. Birmingham Airport sits eight minutes by rail from Birmingham New Street, so a weekend works comfortably from Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Belgium and Ireland without an overnight on either side. From London Euston the train takes around 90 minutes, which makes Villa Park a realistic add-on if you are already in the capital. From New Street, Witton and Aston stations are a short hop on the local line, then a five-minute walk to the ground.
We book your hotel where it suits you — in the city centre for the evening after the match, or closer to the stadium if you would rather walk.
Aston Villa have won the English league seven times, most recently in 1981. The following year Tony Barton's side beat a heavily favoured Bayern Munich 1-0 in Rotterdam to lift the European Cup. Peter Withe scored; reserve goalkeeper Nigel Spink, on after ten minutes, kept it out at the other end with a string of saves against Paul Breitner, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Dieter Hoeneß. Spink went on to make 361 league appearances for the club.
Villa Park also hosted matches at the 1966 World Cup and at Euro 1996, and in 1999 staged the last ever Cup Winners' Cup final between Lazio and RCD Mallorca.
Villa's sharpest rivalries are with the other clubs of England's second city, Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion. The meeting with City is known as the Second City derby, and it is the fixture supporters mark first when the calendar is published. Tickets for it go earliest, so enquire well ahead if that is the game you want.
One note on planning: Premier League kick-off times are only fixed a few weeks before the matchday, because broadcasters move fixtures. A Saturday 15:00 game can end up on the Sunday or the Monday evening. Allow some slack in your travel plans and choose flexible return travel — we flag the affected dates when we quote.
Choose your match and send us an enquiry. The earlier it reaches us, the wider the choice of category and hotel.
