Rogers Stadium
Toronto's concert arena on the old Downsview airfield
Rogers Stadium stands on the grounds of the former Downsview airport in northern Toronto. It opened in 2025, holds 50,000 spectators and is a pure concert arena with no home team.
Rogers Stadium is the newest venue on any tour itinerary — and one of the very few with an expiry date. Live Nation built it in nine months on the grounds of the former Downsview airport in northern Toronto and opened it on 29 June 2025. It is due to be demolished around 2030, when redevelopment of the site begins.
An arena built only for music
It holds around 50,000 people, and the unusual part is that no sports team owns it. At this scale that is rare anywhere in the world — it was built purely for concerts, because Toronto simply did not have enough available nights for the number of stadium acts on the road.
It is an open-air site operated seasonally in the warmer months. There is no roof; dressing for the weather is part of the planning here.
Getting there — and why driving is a bad idea
The site has virtually no parking. It does, however, have two subway stations within reach, and the city has at times laid on free subway travel after shows to handle the crowds. Public transport here is not the fallback but the intended route.
The sensible place to stay is central Toronto, on the subway line running out to Downsview. From there you reach the site without changing, and you get away again afterwards.
