Villarreal host Napoli on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 - two clubs that reached the European elite by very different routes.

Napoli won Serie A in 1987 and 1990 under Maradona and took the UEFA Cup in 1989, carried by a city of millions. Villarreal won the Europa League in 2021 and reached the Champions League semi-finals in 2022 - from a town of some 50,000.
