Small town, real silverware
Villarreal won the Europa League in 2021, beating Manchester United in Gdansk on penalties at 11-10, and reached the Champions League semi-finals in 2022. The Estadio de la Cerámica holds around 23,500 and takes its name from the tile industry that built the town.
Getting there
Villarreal is on the Costa del Azahar, an hour north of Valencia. Fly to Valencia and continue by train; the city, with its old town, central market and City of Arts and Sciences, is the natural base.
