Slovan Bratislava tickets for the Champions League match with VfB Stuttgart

Slovan host Stuttgart on a date still to be announced. Slovakia's most successful club holds a European trophy that no other side from the country has matched.

The 1969 Cup Winners' Cup

Slovan beat Barcelona 3-2 in the final in Basel in 1969 - the only European trophy won by a Czechoslovak club, and a story still told in Bratislava.

Tehelné pole

Rebuilt in 2019 on the site of the old ground of the same name, the stadium holds around 22,500 and sits north-east of the centre, reached easily by tram or bus.

Bratislava

An hour by train from Vienna, and in summer a hydrofoil runs between the two cities along the Danube. The old town is compact enough to walk in a morning, with the castle on its rock above the river looking across to the Austrian border.
