The stadium in the quarry

The Estádio Municipal was built into a disused granite quarry. It has only two stands; behind one goal rises a sheer rock face, behind the other the view opens over the city. Its architect, Eduardo Souto de Moura, later received the Pritzker Prize.

Kuopion PS

The club from Kuopio in the Finnish lake district has been champion of its country several times. The journey from the lakes to the Atlantic is among the longer ones of this league phase.
