The stadium in the quarry

The Estádio Municipal was built into a disused granite quarry. It has only two stands; behind one goal rises a sheer rock face, behind the other the view opens over the city. Its architect, Eduardo Souto de Moura, later received the Pritzker Prize.

KS Egnatia

The club from Rrogozhinë has been among the best in Albania for a few years now. Its name comes from the Via Egnatia, the Roman road that once ran from the Adriatic to Byzantium.

Braga

An hour by train from Porto. Braga is the oldest city in Portugal, and the sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte with its baroque stairway above the town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
