On Thursday 17 December 2026 the Marakana hosts two clubs whose ends rank among the loudest in European football. The Delije on the north stand against the travelling support from the Black Sea coast - that is the story of the evening.

The Marakana

The Rajko Mitić Stadium holds around 53,000 and has carried its Brazilian nickname since the sixties. Red Star won the European Cup in 1991 and remain the only club from south-eastern Europe to have done so.

Trabzonspor

The club from the Black Sea port were the first from outside Istanbul to break the grip of the capital's big three, back in the seventies. Their following is reckoned the most devoted in Turkey.

Belgrade

Well connected by air from Scandinavia, the Benelux countries and the UK. The Kalemegdan fortress, the Skadarlija quarter and the riverside bars fill the hours before kick-off.
