At times, members of the “Union Jax” fan club must feel like kids in a candy store. Named after the iconic Union Jack, the fanbase of the Jacksonville Jaguars is one of the largest outside the U.S. Thanks to a long-term agreement between the NFL and the Florida franchise, over 80,000 fans can secure their NFL Tottenham tickets well in advance, theoretically filling the North London stadium by themselves.
The NFL Schedule Release Day brought some exciting news for Jaguars fans: Trevor Lawrence, Josh Allen, and company will be staying on the island for two (!) consecutive weeks in October. First up, a showdown against the Bears, followed by a Wembley clash with the six-time Super Bowl champions, the New England Patriots.
NFL London ticket prices are often driven by star power, and this year's matchup offers a rare QB match up. Trevor Lawrence vs. Caleb Williams. The 2021 first overall pick going head-to-head with the 2024 first overall pick- both hailed as “generational talents” entering the NFL.
Many believe that one, if not both, of these faces could shape the future of football, much like Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs) is doing now, or how Tom Brady, the G.O.A.T., did before him. Caleb Williams is already generating buzz with record-breaking jersey sales and bold statements like, “I want to play in one place for 20 years and chase down number 12.”
Whether Williams can translate his unique play style from USC to the NFL in time for the Jaguars vs. Bears game (NFL London tickets with hotel packages available) remains to be seen. What’s certain is that Trevor Lawrence has a leg up: in 2021, he became the first rookie QB to win an NFL London game, leading the Jags to a 23-20 victory over the Miami Dolphins.
Since then, Lawrence has added two more wins from three London appearances, giving the so-called "London Jaguars" a slightly positive record (6-5) in the UK’s capital. Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears are gearing up for their third NFL London trip, following games in 2011 and 2019.
Many still recall the “Housewarming Party,” when the Bears and Raiders (now the Las Vegas Raiders) christened the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, now considered the NFL's European home.
Clips of Raiders running back Josh Jacobs scoring two touchdowns in the 24-21 victory went viral, as did shots of the 65-meter “Goal Line Bar,” serving six different beers on game day.
