The English Premier League released the full 2025/2026 schedule with all 380 matches on June 18, 2025. Premier League champions Liverpool FC will kick off the 34th season of England's elite league, founded in 1992. Here’s a look at the matches that are perfect for a Premier League football trip.
Friday night at Anfield – that’s the setting on August 15, 2025, when English champions Liverpool FC kick off the new season – at 9 PM against AFC Bournemouth.
“The Reds” played 56 competitive matches in the 2024/2025 season, winning 38 of them.

Premier League Schedule: A Classic to Start

First matchday, first derby! Conference League winners Chelsea FC host FA Cup winners Crystal Palace on August 17, 2025.
When is the champions vs runners-up clash, Liverpool vs Arsenal?
Liverpool FC will face “The Gunners” early in the season – already on matchday three (August 30, 2025) the two top teams of last season meet at Anfield. The return leg in London is set for January 7, 2026.
What happens after the first international break in September 2025?
Matchday four (September 13, 2025) features a highlight: the Manchester Derby – City vs United.
When is the first Merseyside Derby: Liverpool vs Everton?
“Toffees” fans will have to wait a bit longer for the first Merseyside Derby in the new stadium. It’s scheduled for the second half of the season on April 18, 2026. The first leg takes place at Anfield on September 20, 2025. More about the Merseyside Derby can be found here.
English Classic: Liverpool With Home Advantage First
The match of all matches in England, the clash of record title holders Liverpool FC vs Manchester United, will be played on matchday eight around October 18. United managed a 2-2 draw in Liverpool earlier in January.
Liverpool will first face dethroned champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium – on matchday eleven, starting from November 8, 2025. The return leg at Anfield is expected on January 7, 2026.
When is the North London Derby?
One of London’s most prestigious rivalries, Tottenham vs Arsenal, takes place for the first time in the 2025/2026 season around November 22, 2025 (matchday twelve), with Arsenal FC playing at home. Read all about the London Derbies in our Premier League Offside column.
What are the Boxing Day highlights?
Boxing Day, England’s traditional football holiday around December 26, features Liverpool vs Wolverhampton Wanderers and the promoted clash AFC Sunderland vs Leeds United.
The calendar year 2025 wraps up on December 30 (matchday 19), with matches including Liverpool FC vs Leeds United and the London derby Crystal Palace vs Fulham.
Is there a winter break in the Premier League?
Yes! England’s top flight will pause between January 8 and 16, 2026, before resuming with matchday 22 (January 17, 2026), featuring the Manchester Derby return leg. Also on offer: a London derby, West Ham United vs Tottenham Hotspur.
When does the 2025/2026 Premier League season end?
Matchday 38 and the final round is on May 24, 2025 – all matches kick off simultaneously, including Liverpool FC vs Brentford FC, Tottenham Hotspur vs Everton FC and Manchester City vs Aston Villa.
