Konya sits well away from the coastal tourist routes, in the middle of the Anatolian plateau, and is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. As a football destination it is unusual — which is exactly why it makes a trip worth talking about afterwards.

Konyaspor won the Turkish Cup in 2017 and played in the Europa League the following season. The stadium, opened in 2014, holds around 42,000, is fully covered and turns green and white on matchdays.
