Bologna tickets: an old champion back at the top

Bologna won seven Italian championships, most of them before the war, and then spent decades in the middle of the table or below it. The last few seasons changed that: a Coppa Italia, a return to European football and crowds that have not been this loud since the 1960s.

The Stadio Renato Dall'Ara opened in 1927 and still shows it. The Torre di Maratona at one end is a listed structure, and the ground sits on the edge of the old town rather than out by a motorway.
