Slovan Bratislava tickets for the Champions League match with Shakhtar Donetsk

Slovan host Shakhtar on Wednesday 9 December 2026 - two clubs from central and eastern Europe, each with a European trophy in the cabinet.

Two winners

Slovan took the Cup Winners' Cup in 1969, the only club from the former Czechoslovakia to do so. Shakhtar won the UEFA Cup in 2009 and have staged their own home matches away from Donetsk for years; the Donbass Arena, opened in 2009, is no longer in use by the club.

The Štadión Tehelné pole

Rebuilt in 2019 on its historic site, around 22,500 seats, football-only, in the north of the city, with the stands close to the pitch.

Bratislava

Sixty kilometres from Vienna, with trains and buses several times a day. The old town is walkable: the castle above the Danube, St Michael's Gate, the Blue Church and the UFO deck on the bridge.
