On Tuesday, 4 May 2027, Rod Stewart comes to the Utilita Arena Birmingham. The evening is part of „The Final Encore“, which Stewart has explicitly called his last rock 'n' roll tour — he says he is not retiring, but there will be no more big tours after this one. Howard Jones is the support act. After Belfast and Glasgow, Birmingham is the first stop in England; Manchester follows two days later and London on 11 May.

The Tuesday date

For a Tuesday concert, arriving on Monday keeps the day of the show relaxed. If you would like to combine Birmingham with a second date, Manchester is about an hour and a half away by train, with the concert there on Thursday. For this evening alone, travel home on Wednesday.

The Utilita Arena Birmingham

The arena opened in 1991 as the National Indoor Arena and sits on the canal network west of the city centre, just behind Brindleyplace. For concerts it holds around 15,000 people. With restaurants and bars a few minutes away along the water, the hours before the show are easy to fill.

Brindleyplace and the Broad Street area have plenty of hotels within walking distance of the arena, so the way back after the concert needs no taxi.

Getting to the Utilita Arena Birmingham

From Birmingham New Street station the arena is a 15 to 20-minute walk via Centenary Square. The city centre is easy to get around on foot. Birmingham Airport is around a quarter of an hour from New Street by train.
