On Friday 21 May 2027 oasis play Celtic Park in Glasgow. This is not just another date: it is the opening concert of the entire Oasis Live '27 tour, the first of 38 nights that only end four months later at Knebworth.

Why the tour opens in Glasgow

The choice is anything but arbitrary. In May 1993 oasis played King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow — a small club where they were not even on the bill. In the audience sat Alan McGee of Creation Records, and what followed is pop history: he signed the band, and two years later they were the biggest in the country.

Just under 34 years on, the largest tour of their career begins in the same city, in front of around 60,000 people at Celtic's ground. Anyone who has been to a European night at Celtic Park knows what this stadium can produce in sheer volume. Richard Ashcroft is special guest, on all 38 dates of the tour.

What an opening night means

The first night of a tour always carries the most tension: the first setlist, the first look at the stage, the first show since the announcement. It is not necessarily the best night of the run musically — but it is the one everyone talks about afterwards.

Glasgow is smaller than Manchester and has correspondingly fewer beds. Five concert nights with roughly 60,000 visitors each hit a city that does not absorb that casually. For the opening night, add the international fans travelling in for this one date specifically. Here the room runs short before the ticket does.

Getting to Celtic Park

The stadium is in Parkhead, in the east end of Glasgow. Trains run from the centre, with extra buses on event days; on foot it is around 40 minutes. Sensible places to stay are the city centre around Buchanan Street or the Merchant City — both within reach of the ground and of the pubs where the evening usually continues.

How to get tickets

Unlike previous tours, there is no general on-sale. Tickets go only to fans who registered in advance on the band's official website, and according to the band no additional presales are planned.
