Day 5: Round Two Comes to a Close

On 23 April 2027, the last decisions of round two are made – by the end of the day, the 32 players per tour who advance to round three, and with it closer to the round of 16, will be known.

Setting Up Week Two

With round two complete, the field narrows noticeably: from an original 96 players per tour, only 32 remain to fight for a spot in the round of 16 over the following days. The competitive pressure rises accordingly from match to match.

More Time for Individual Matches

With fewer matches running in parallel than in the tournament's opening phase, the focus shifts more toward individual, often hard-fought contests – a good day to settle in on one match instead of hopping between courts.

Before or after your day at the tournament, a stroll along Gran Vía is worthwhile, with its striking early-20th-century architecture and countless shops.
