The first tournament weekend brings a packed schedule
Last updated: 29 July 2026
8 May 2027 falls on a Saturday, marking the first weekend of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia. Rounds one and two continue to run in parallel, while the grounds see their biggest crowds of the tournament so far.
Saturdays traditionally draw bigger crowds than the weekdays before them — families, tennis fans from across Italy and international visitors converge on the Foro Italico, while the battle for the remaining round-three places continues in the background.
As crowds grow, so does demand for tickets on the show courts. Staying flexible about which court to watch still guarantees a packed schedule of tennis on the outer courts.
After a long day of tennis, it's worth heading to the Trastevere neighbourhood, with its narrow lanes, trattorias and lively evening atmosphere — a classic contrast to an afternoon of sport.
