Genoa tickets: founded by Englishmen in 1893

The Genoa Cricket and Football Club is the oldest football club in Italy, and for its first years no Italian was allowed to join — it was founded by British expatriates and played in the colours of the England national side. The Union Jack still appears on banners in the stand today.

The Stadio Luigi Ferraris, known to everyone as the Marassi, is the reason many visitors come. Four square towers, stands that rise steeply on all four sides with no running track, and a roof that traps the noise: it is the closest thing in Italy to an old English ground, and on derby day it is deafening.
