The Belgian Jupiler Pro League thrives on excitement thanks to its championship round. Football trips & tickets for the Jupiler Pro League are available for the 2025/2026 season for FC Antwerp, KRC Genk, KAA Gent, and Club Brugge – including highlights from the Jupiler Pro League schedule in advance.

Belgium – the (somewhat) unknown football country. In the shadow of Europe’s big five leagues, real championship dramas have unfolded in recent years.
Club Brugge claimed the title in 2024 with just a one-point lead over Union Saint-Gilloise in the six-team, ten-match championship round (playoffs).
It was the 19th championship for Brugge, their fourth since 2020.

For Union Saint-Gilloise, 2025 meant: “You'll never wait alone.” The Brussels district club became Belgian champions again for the first time in 90 years – their last and 11th title was in 1935.

"No, it’s no longer a dream," wrote the Union Saint-Gilloise editorial team euphorically on X, "Good day, Belgian champions!" In the end, Saint-Gilloise finished three points ahead of defending champions Brugge.

Who does Royal Antwerp play on matchday one?

The 2023 Belgian champions, Royal Antwerp, finished fifth in the 2024/2025 playoff round for the title and will face Union Saint-Gilloise on the opening matchday, July 25, 2025.

Antwerp’s first away game is around August 2, 2025 – away at KRC Genk.  The Cegeka Arena in Genk is considered one of the most atmospheric stadiums in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.

When is the Brugge derby between Club and Cercle Brugge?

The two teams from the “Venice of the North” – as Bruges is often called due to its historic city center and proximity to the Flemish North Sea coast – meet on matchday three (August 9, 2025) at Club Brugge’s Jan Breydel Stadium. The return leg is scheduled for February 14, 2026.

The Brugge derby decided the 2024 championship – a 0:0 draw was enough for Club Brugge to secure the title. Cercle Brugge avoided relegation in 2025 only via the playoff matches against Patro Eisden Maasmechelen (Limburg province) – 5:1 and 3:1 victories.

When is the Belgian classic: Club Brugge vs. RSC Anderlecht?

Brugge and RSC Anderlecht from Brussels are among Belgium’s most internationally renowned clubs. They face off at Jan Breydel Stadium in Bruges on March 7, 2026 (matchday 28 of the regular season). Despite being 100 kilometers apart, this is the fiercest rivalry in Belgian football.

Anderlecht holds the record with 34 league titles, while Club Brugge follows with 19, trailing the three-time European Cup winners.

When is the derby “The Topper” between Club Brugge and Standard Liège?

“The Topper” – this matchup is also one of the Jupiler Pro League’s highlights, and on February 7, 2026, Club Brugge hosts the Walloon rivals at home.

When is KAA Gent vs. Brugge?

This derby is also known as “The Battle of Flanders,” a name that dates back to a medieval conflict. It’s already scheduled for matchday six (August 31, 2025), with Gent hosting in the KAA Arena.

The return match in Bruges will take place around December 20, 2025.
