Roland Garros Day 3: The First Round Comes to a Close

Day three of Roland Garros 2027 brings the entire First Round field to its conclusion: every remaining Ladies' and Gentlemen's first-round match is played on this day. For many players, it's the last chance to secure a place in the second round — making for some of the most intense and emotional tennis of the opening week.

As on the previous days, matches are spread across Court Philippe-Chatrier, Court Suzanne-Lenglen and Court Simonne-Mathieu, as well as the tournament's many outside courts. It's often on these smaller courts that fans get closest to the action, sometimes witnessing surprisingly high-quality tennis away from the main stage.

By the end of Day 3, the complete Second Round draw is set — a good moment to start looking ahead to the tournament's next stages.
