Craven Cottage remains a unique stadium in the Premier League. Opened in 1896, it has retained its original charm, and its idyllic location right on the Thames makes the home of the Fulham Football Club one of a kind.
The Pavilion building “The Cottage” between the Johnny Haynes Stand (entrance: Stevenage Road) and Putney End stands as a symbol of this uniqueness, where time seems to stand still.

Riverside Stand: “A Game-Changer”

Not so with the Riverside Stand, the grandstand directly adjacent to the river.
After the stadium's renovation in 2022-2023, Craven Cottage now holds 29,600 spectators, up from the previous 24,600 seats (all seating).

The Riverside Stand leaves nothing to be desired. “The Brasserie at the Water’s Edge” and “The Dugout” bar have been part of London’s exclusive hospitality offerings since late 2024.

“Don’t get us wrong, but the development of the Riverside Stand, a location like no other, is a real game-changer for FC Fulham, our neighboring districts, and all of London,” says Fulham's president, Shahid Khan, about the new grandstand.

Football Travel FC Fulham: A Walk Along the Thames

A football trip to FC Fulham is best undertaken by tube (District Line). The Putney Bridge tube station is only about 15 minutes away, though for evening games, it’s worth noting that Bishop’s Park, through which the walking route passes, is closed in the evenings.

If you still try to go by car: parking around the stadium is free on evenings and Sundays.

“This is Premier League Football”

And this is the setting for play – even in the standings of eleventh vs. twelfth. “This is Premier League football,” said Fulham coach Marco Silva before the match on Premier League TV, “but as a team, we’re still in a learning process.”

The Europa League finalist of 2010 fell behind 0:1 after 24 minutes due to a powerful shot by German Vitaly Janelt. No chance for former German national goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

Incredible Final Phase

The Bees held this lead until the absolute final phase. By then, 24 shot attempts by the Cottagers in the second half had not led to a goal.
Six minutes of added time had already begun when substitute Harry Wilson (90+2) somehow slotted the ball into the net for the 1:1.

Leno saved Fulham with a huge save from five meters against ex-Fulham player Fabio Carvalho (90+5).

In the added time of added time, Craven Cottage then “exploded” with joy – Harry Wilson with a diving header to make it 2:1 – what a scene. The Cottagers would have loved to jump into the seething crowd after the winning goal, and some overzealous fans had to be held back by security. You can’t get much closer than that...
