Since June 25, 2025, fans in the Netherlands also know when the popular Eredivisie football trips 2025/26 will take place – the fixture list for the new season is out. We’ve taken a look for you. The Dutch elite league offers more than just the legendary "Klassieker" between Ajax Amsterdam and Feyenoord Rotterdam.

In any case, the disappointment at Ajax Amsterdam likely hasn’t faded yet. The Dutch record champions were overtaken at the finish line by PSV Eindhoven (reported by event-breaks.com). Never before had a top ten league leader squandered such a big lead (nine points).

“Ajax built a big lead, but once you start dropping points, the outside world begins to question the psychological impact on the team,” said former Ajax and PSV player Wim Jonk after the season finale, “you could see that the pressure on Ajax kept growing and the matches froze up.”

Five weeks after the dramatic ending on May 18, 2025, Ajax now knows who they will play and when in the 2025/2026 season – and they have the chance to make up for the embarrassment.

Their first opponent of the new season is a promoted team, SC Telstar from Velsen-Zuid in North Holland – and Ajax will face them on August 10, 2025 (4:30 p.m.) in front of their fans for the first time since the title disaster at the Johan Cruijff ArenA.

Champions PSV Eindhoven made up ten points on Ajax in the last seven matches of the 2024/25 season (!) and will kick off the new season at home – against Sparta Rotterdam. This was also the opponent for former BVB coach Peter Bosz’s team in the season finale (3:1).

The team that put PSV in pole position for the title with a late 2:2 draw against Ajax was FC Groningen – and they will visit the Philips Stadion on matchday three, scheduled for August 23, 2025.

Eredivisie Schedule 2025/26: When is “De Klassieker”?

The question occupying football fans in the Netherlands and nearby Germany: When is “De Klassieker”, the clash between Ajax Amsterdam and Feyenoord?

The 2:1 win by Ajax over Feyenoord Rotterdam in February 2025 was our “Match of the Week” – and it’s once again a strong contender for the same honor this season. It will take place on December 13, 2025 in Amsterdam – Ajax tickets for this match are available this year in our “Black Week Special”.

The return match at “De Kuip” in Rotterdam will be held on March 21, 2026.

Football trip tip: Please note that away fans are not allowed by the organizer at both Amsterdam and Feyenoord Rotterdam matches.

When will champions PSV Eindhoven face Ajax Amsterdam?

PSV Eindhoven lost both games to Ajax Amsterdam last season (2:3 / 0:2) but still became champions (26th title).

The clash between the two best teams of last season will take place for the first time on September 21, 2025 – with home advantage for the reigning champions.

The return match in Amsterdam is scheduled around May 2, 2026.

When will Feyenoord Rotterdam play PSV Eindhoven?

Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV Eindhoven – these are the “Big Three” in the Eredivisie, and Feyenoord and PSV will clash on October 26, 2025 in Rotterdam for the first time.

They will meet again in Eindhoven on January 31, 2026.

On which days will the Rotterdam Derby, Feyenoord vs Sparta, be played in 2025/2026?

The Rotterdam Derby between Feyenoord and the much lesser-known club Sparta is clearly overshadowed by “De Klassieker” and the other Big Three clashes.

Nevertheless, it has its charm and will be played on January 17, 2026 at “De Kuip”. Last season, Feyenoord did not lose either of the two derbies against Sparta (3:0 / 1:1).

Another Rotterdam club is the promoted Excelsior, which will face the city rival Feyenoord on March 14, 2026.
