Football Trips Premier League: The best fixtures in September

The English Premier League kicks off on August 15, 2025, with champions Liverpool FC facing AFC Bournemouth to open the new season. The Premier League has now scheduled matchdays for all 20 teams for the month of September 2025. Here’s a selection of highlights for a Premier League football trip.

In coordination with British TV rights holders TNT and Sky Sports UK, the Premier League has scheduled matchdays four to six in September 2025. 

The main kick-off time remains at 4 p.m. German time.

The first lunchtime game in this period is on September 13: Arsenal FC vs Nottingham Forest (1:30 p.m. / All times: German time). 
Liverpool returns to action on Sunday, September 14 (3 p.m.) in the first Sunday match of matchday four at newly promoted Burnley FC at Turf Moor.

Match Schedule England: When is Manchester City vs United?

At 5:30 p.m., there will be a match already considered a contender for our “Match of the Week” section: The Manchester Derby – City vs United at the Etihad Stadium. It was also the FA Cup Final in 2024. 

The often critical English media were already celebrating the Premier League record signing, German international Florian Wirtz, before the season began (,,Virgil van Dijk told me upon arrival that Liverpool is the place to be in the Premier League“) from Bayer Leverkusen. “The applause for Wirtz shows that The Kop is already convinced,” wrote the Liverpool Echo on August 5. “You can’t take your eyes off Florian Wirtz,” raved the Daily Mirror. 

The English champions showed early good form in friendlies against Athletic Bilbao (4:1 and 3:2) and in a challenging return following the death of Diogo Jota (more about Jota and Liverpool’s greatest tragedies) at Preston North End (3:1) on July 13, 2025, and will open matchday five.

Premier League Fixtures September: When is Liverpool vs Everton?

It will be a home match at Anfield that needs no further explanation: the Merseyside Derby against Everton FC (1:30 p.m.). 

Very important: If Liverpool has an away match in the Champions League group stage beforehand, the Merseyside Derby will move to Sunday at the same kick-off time. 

Derby time will also be in London on Saturday, September 20, 2025: West Ham United hosts cup winners Crystal Palace.

Saturday will end with the league classic Manchester United vs Chelsea FC (6:30 p.m.).

The Sunday highlight is Arsenal FC vs Manchester City (5:30 p.m.). 

Which Monday Match is in the Premier League in September?

On matchday six, Brentford FC and Manchester United will kick off at lunchtime (1:30 p.m.). Liverpool will also be in London, playing away at Crystal Palace – a rematch of the Community Shield.

At the same time, 4 p.m.: Promoted side Leeds United vs AFC Bournemouth.

The only Monday Night Game in the Premier League in September 2025 is Everton FC vs West Ham United (September 29, 2025, 9 p.m.).
