RCD Mallorca football trips take you to one of Spain’s most popular holiday islands. A beach holiday combined with top-class football from La Liga – there are few places where this combination can be played with such style. The ambitious Mallorca makers from the USA, including NBA legends Steve Nash and Steve Kerr, earn a lot of reputation at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix with a very special lounge.

It’s the “Tunnel Experience” at RCD Mallorca, the European Cup Winners’ Cup finalist of 1999.

It’s part of the overall package at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix, which impresses with several innovations and, thanks to its premium areas, provides a completely new football experience.

Where is the RCD Mallorca stadium?

First things first: The Estadi Mallorca Son Moix is located in the northwest of Palma, the capital of Mallorca.
From the stadium to the famous party strip Balneario 6 (S’Arenal) it’s a 17-minute drive by car or taxi.

RCD Mallorca stadium seats: Where is the best matchday experience in Son Moix?

Son Moix was inaugurated in 1999, making it one of the newest arenas in Spain’s La Liga. It offers 25,736 spectator seats and, since the 2022/2023 season, has been called Estadi Mallorca Son Moix thanks to a sponsorship deal worth €1.81 million.

In addition to the “Tunnel Experience,” the stadium also attracts fans with the “Tramontana Lounge” behind the goal – complete with bar, sun terrace, and mountain views.

RCD Mallorca stadium renovation: A few highlights

To make football on Mallorca even more attractive, not only was the stadium renovated, but a club-owned sports clinic was also opened next to it – treating both professionals and amateur athletes and operating even on non-match days.

Away from RCD Mallorca’s games, events are held in all premium areas of the stadium.

The club’s American owners – president and former tennis professional Andy Kohlberg, along with NBA legends Steve Nash and Steve Kerr – seem to act strictly according to the American motto “There’s no business like show business.”

VIP football tickets: Mallorca reports “sold out”

The “Tunnel Experience” was a hit from the very start – 124 tickets are available for RCD Mallorca’s remaining home games, but all are sold out.

Ticket prices for the lounge start at €1,150 for top matches such as against FC Barcelona or Atlético Madrid, both of which have already played on Mallorca this season (0:3 / 1:1).

RCD Mallorca Tunnel Club: “Europe’s coolest box”

For matches against less well-known teams such as Getafe FC, the ticket price for the “Tunnel Experience” is €350 – still higher than the cost of a season ticket in the Mallorca fan section.
“During Mallorca’s friendly against HSV (2:0), I was able to test the offer as a SPORT BILD reporter,” reports colleague Lukas Dombrowski from SPORT BILD, “and to put it bluntly: it’s the coolest box in European football!”

Two 390-square-meter, fully glazed rooms are located in the stadium directly between the locker room and the players’ tunnel on one side, and the pitch and substitutes’ bench on the other.

When the players take to the field, they are separated from the fans in the tunnel by only a glass wall. “The room offers 360-degree access to the players’ movements,” says RCD Mallorca about its premium product, “from the moment they arrive at the stadium to warm-up and kick-off.” So visitors can follow the entire pre-match preparation.

The seats belonging to the “Tunnel Experience” box are arranged on a three-row mini-stand, located very close to the coaches’ bench and right next to the touchline, giving spectators the feeling of being part of the team. An almost unbeatable proximity to La Liga’s stars.

RCD Mallorca stadium tours: Discover Son Moix

Even fans who couldn’t get one of the coveted “Tunnel Experience” tickets still have the chance to discover the inner workings of the island’s stadium on a guided tour.

The tour also includes areas of Son Moix that are normally off-limits to the public, such as the press conference room.

The tour lasts one hour, adults pay €18, and with a guide from RCD Mallorca and the help of augmented reality, they can enjoy a multimedia stadium experience.
