Construction and Early History

Old Trafford stadium was designed by architect Archibald Leitch and built by workers from Newton Heath LYR (the predecessor to Manchester United) in 1909. It was the first stadium in England to have a roof covering the stands and it also featured the first electric scoreboard in the country.

Opening and International Recognition

Old Trafford was officially opened in 1910 and quickly became one of the most popular venues in England. It was also the site of many international matches and was even chosen to host the 1966 World Cup final.

Renovations and Expansion

Over the years, Old Trafford has undergone numerous renovations and expansions to meet the growing demands of the sport. One of the most notable renovations was the "Quadrant" project, which added four new stands to the stadium in 2006.

Stretford End

The Stretford End is the name of the southern curve at Old Trafford stadium and it is home to the loudest and most loyal Manchester United fans. The Stretford End was named by the fans in the 1980s and has since become an integral part of the stadium's football culture.

Today, Old Trafford is one of the largest and most modern stadiums in the world, with a seating capacity of over 74,000. It is home to many important games and events, including the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup final.

In recent years, Old Trafford has become a popular tourist attraction and is visited by hundreds of thousands of people each year. It is also an important part of the history and legacy of Manchester United and remains one of the most famous football venues in the world.

The Manchester United tickets on offer are e-tickets. You will receive this by email about 2-4 days before the game.

There is no specific dress code in the stadium. Merchandise from the visiting team, such as jerseys, scarves, etc., are, however, prohibited in the stadium.

We guarantee at least 2 seats together at Old Trafford. We can also offer several connected seats for most Manchester United home games. Just contact us.

Unfortunately, since we can only offer full-price tickets, there is no discount on the tickets. However, we can offer a discount for hotel accommodation if necessary. Simply write to us for this.

Yes. At Manchester United and in England in general, every person (regardless of age) entering the stadium needs their own ticket.

Old Trafford opens 2 hours before kick-off. However, some VIP & hospitality areas open 2 ½ to 3 hours before the match.

The area around the stadium will be cordoned off to traffic for home games. We therefore recommend using public transport (tram) or a taxi and walking the rest.

From Manchester City Center to Old Trafford Stadium, take the Tram towards Altrincham. Old Trafford station. From there it is about a 5-minute walk to the stadium. The journey time is approximately 15-20 minutes and costs around £2 - £3.

Please note that public transport can be very crowded. We therefore recommend an early arrival at the stadium.

Manchester has its own international airport. This is served by many airlines (British Airways, Lufthansa, Eurowings, Easyjet, Ryanair etc.).

From the airport you can travel directly to Manchester city center by train.

The National Football Museum is England's national football museum. It preserves, conserves and displays important collections of football memorabilia. The museum is located in central Manchester, very close to Victoria Station.

You can buy tickets for the National Football Museum from us for €15 per person (children up to 15 years: €8.50)

We offer different hotel rates in the booking process. You can see whether breakfast is included in the price when selecting the tariff for the respective hotel.

By default the cheapest rate from the hotel will be displayed first, which usually does not include breakfast. However, you can switch to a rate that includes breakfast if you wish.
